The purpose of this position is to ensure that the office and our reporting and bookkeeping funcitions run smoothly. It is perfect for a college graduate with an accounting background looking to gain invaluable experience is they begin their career .
This position serves two companies, Social Media Beast and Concierge Preferred. This is a fast-paced work environment, suitable only for self-starters and people who can exercise professional judgment without constant supervision. Responsibilities/Percent of Overall Time:
Accounting & reporting - support controller in A/R, A/P and creating reports to keep our company focused and on track. Includes bank reconcilliations and commissions statements./60%
Admin services - answer phones and door, track employees days off, deliver mail, work check-in at events, and keep office in order./10%
Purchasing & Systems - help controller execute purchasing for the company. Ensure all pc’s, server, internet, email, fax, printer, smart phones, etc. are operational. Maintain account log that includes all account info, logins, and passwords. Update Salesforce database as bad addresses come in from mailings, systematically review database to help sales team keep database current. Assist teammates with IT issues and related equipment and vendors (phones, computers, etc.)/15%
Support – Projects for President including scheduling meetings. Help with office supplies. Backup other support staff as needed./15%
College degree including accounting classes
Computer Skills: Technically efficient. Proficient with Quickbooks, Google Docs
Good writing and listening skills
Problem solving skills to solve own problems and brings solutions to management and clients
Proactive nature – ability to take initiative to get things done with minimal supervision
Capable of basic database management through Salesforce CRM
Ability to communicate with all levels of management within the client and Concierge Preferred and Social Media Beast organization
Ability to direct purchase, maintenance and support of systems including phones, computers, etc. through various vendors
Positive, approachable personality that makes people feel welcome
Great organizational and time management skills to manage own schedule and to help with that of the CEO

Concierge Preferred is a visitor marketing company. We drive visitors to the doors of our partners through the various products and services we offer including a website, magazine, social media marketing services, e-newsletter, trade show, and concierge research and distribution services.
Social Media Beast was launched in 2010. It is a social media centric digital marketing and content creation agency. We handle social media marketing for many strong brands including Navy Pier, Chicago Trolley, United Auto Insurance and Byline Financial.
