Concierge Preferred was created to give Chicago’s visitor-oriented businesses, concierges and visitors better options. We are a visitor marketing company. We drive visitors to the doors of our partners through the various products and services we offer including a website, magazine, annual maps program, social media marketing services, e-newsletter, trade show, concierge research, and distribution services. We work closely with our sister companies, Pinnacle Advertising Group and Social Media Beast, as they both provide support for Concierge Preferred.

Job Summary

The purpose of this position is to create the best visitor-related products in the Chicago market, assist clients in reaching visitors through marketing, be a go-to resource for tourists and concierges on Chicago’s hot spots, and enable greater sales so as to provide better opportunities for our team.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Produce Concierge Preferred Magazine bimonthly making it the top visitor resource and tool for concierges.
    • Create content and edit and fact check the magazine during production and update our ISSUU profile with new issues.
  • Contribute and maintain the Concierge Preferred website.
    • Translate print products for the website.
    • Contribute at least three articles a week for the blog.
  • Manage and create email marketing for clients and our company.
    • This includes our weekly consumer e-newsletter, announcements of new magazine issues, and client blasts..
  • Work with creative team to ensure that design, photos, video, and other collateral are aligned with the Concierge Preferred brand and come in under budget.
  • Assist in all things editorial related, whether this means communicating with the freelance writers, updating content, or perusing blogs to discover the latest tourism industry news coming out of Chicago. 
  • Keep up-to-date on the comings and goings of businesses in the city to ensure that the editorial is cutting edge.
  • Assist in the Annual Concierge Favorites voting and awards.
  • Assist in the creative and production processes for the Chicago Neighborhood Maps program annually.
  • Contribute to social media accounts to distribute Concierge Preferred content, increase engagement, and strengthen our brand.
  • Bring forward ideas for new editorial and/or products and opportunities when possible. 
  • Assist the Director of Concierge Relations in creating marketing collateral for Concierge Preferred events and assisting in the production and staffing of said events.


  • 45-50 hours per week; ability to attend industry events as necessary (many occur after typical 9-5:30 p.m. workday)

Qualifications and Skills

  • B.A. in English, Journalism, Marketing or related field

  • Excellent writing skills with a voice and ability to whip up copy quickly

  • History of working under deadlines

  • Ability to edit copy and fact check in an online environment under pressure

  • Familiarity with digital media and trends

  • Self-starter with great communications and people skills (both verbal and written)

  • Proficient in Mailchimp or similar email marketing tools

  • Familiarity with Google Suite (Google Drive, Docs, Slides, Sheets, and Forms). We are a cloud based office.

  • Familiarity with Wordpress or other CMS

  • AP Style

  • Familiarity with Analytics and email marketing best practices.

  • HTML, CSS, and Photoshop skills perferred.
